About Me

Hi! I’m Hayden McAlister.

I am a PhD candidate at the University of Otago, New Zealand, focusing on associative memories, particularly the Hopfield network and Dense Associative Memory. I am also deeply fascinated by dynamical systems, discrete mathematics, and other abstract areas.

Creatively, I enjoy playing guitar, crochet, knitting, and photography. Coincidentally, the majority of the posts on this blog are about said photography — certainly these are the most visually interesting for a reader!

Check out my GitHub! I prefer programming in Golang, although most of my day to day work involves playing about in Python with a variety of machine learning libraries.
