About Me

Hi! I’m Hayden McAlister.

I am a recent PhD graduate from the University of Otago, New Zealand. My research focuses on associative memories, particularly the Hopfield network and Dense Associative Memory. My work also intersects with dynamical systems, discrete mathematics, and statistical physics. Recently, I have been looking at machine learning more broadly but still in the realm of theoretical and mathematical approaches to the topic.

Creatively, I enjoy playing guitar, crochet, knitting, and photography. Coincidentally, the majority of the posts on this blog are about said photography.
