A continuation of the previous day’s photography, since the day was just so excellent in its light! Many of the same themes as that last roll, mostly bird photography and macro shots, since that’s what caught my fancy on the day.

Here’s an interesting couple of shots using the 200mm zoom lens and all three 2x teleconverters (hence the extremely fuzzy, extremely dusty composition). This particular frame used the internal light meter which suggested 1/4s shutter, but this was clearly influenced by the sky rather than the radio tower.

Using a (gut-feeling) shutter time of 4s instead, we get some detail on the radio tower. Considering the tower was 6 kilometers away at the time, this is a pretty darned good photograph! An effective focal length of 1600mm, goodness!

This is the same composition with a 50mm lens instead. See the tower?
